Geomatics

The Geomatics includes all the tools and methods to acquire, represent, analyze and integrate geographical data. The word Geomatics was determined to group all the knowledge and technologies needed for the production and processing of digital data describing the territory, resources or other object or phenomenon with a geographical position.
Geomatics therefore consists of at least three distinct activities : acquisition, processing and diffusion of geographic data. Geomatics is closely linked to’Geographic Information which is the representation of an object or a phenomenon localized in space. Professionals working inthe study of geomatics and its software are called geomaticians (Project manager or geomatics engineer, administrator GIS, cartographer technician or data processing, spatial database manager, etc).
